Real Impacts and Solutions

The four-day Geneva sessions will focus on the following themes:

1. The impact of climate change on disasters, humanitarian response and development

2. Seeking concrete solutions

3. The role of media for informing affected populations, promoting better awareness, and serving as a watchdog for global accountability.

Each day will be divided into two parts:
The first day will serve as a theme setter by global experts for participating editors, journalists and producers. Part of the day will develop an editorial focus with story ideas and possible collaboration and content sharing among the participants, particularly with regard to the proposed fieldtrip.

Days 2 and 3 will be divided as follows:

1. Mornings: interactive group discussions with key experts (one or two panels). Also possible breakfast and/or “brown bag” lunch sessions for select leaders or experts.

2. Afternoons: individual research, interviews, optional presentations... This will enable participating journalists to conduct their own individual reporting in Geneva and the region. It will also give them the opportunity to broaden their access to relevant international organizations and specialists. Media21 will facilitate these meetings and contacts, either individually or as part of small groups.
